About the paint
IDEABOND pre-painted aluminium panel used for facade is coil coated with a high-quality PVDF-paint system. Particular, its good workability, the strength of the base material and the coating make IDEABOND ideal for creating facades that match your specific ideas and modern architecture requirements.

Surface
Front Face:
IDEABOND has been coil coated with a PVDF paint system (80/20). The paint thickness is approx. 25µm for a two - layer paint system. For special coatings the paint thickness is approx. 40 µm.
Reverse side:
The reverse side of IDEABOND is protected with a transparent lacquer. The thickness of this lacquer is approx. 3 µm. Identification number, DEABOND logo is imprinted underneath the protective lacquer. An arrow indicates the coating direction.

Protective film
To be protected against damage, IDEABOND is provided with a white, UV-resistant protective foil on the front side. This film poses no risk to ground water and can be recycled. It remains on the panel during installation and can easily be removed once the panels are in place.



2. Roofing

IDEABOND, pre-painted aluminium panel in standing seam quality is a semi-finished coil-coated product whose alloy, mechanical properties and coating materials are coordinated perfectly with the processing techniques used in lock-welting. IDEABOND can be used as for rain-proof double-skin, rear-ventilated roof constructions, or single-skin roof constructions without rear-ventilation as it can for complex facade architecture. IDEABOND is available in different surface finishes: Uni and metallic colors as well as copper, zinc or titanium imitations.

The coil coated aluminium strips are ideal for roll forming, cutting and sawing, folding, drilling, riveting and gluing. IDEABOND can be combined with other materials such as wood, stone or glass to create individual styles.
From a broad sweeping arched roof, a narrow angled dormer, a bay construction, a church tower or large areas of facade cladding - IDEABOND opens up a broad spectrum of individualized roof and facade designs.

Protective film:
IDEABOND is delivered with a patented, asymmetrically perforated anti-slip protective film for the front side. This protection film is UV-resistant and can remain on the panels for up to six months until all work is complete.

 

3. Ceiling

Suspended aluminium ceiling elements of IDEABOND pre-painted aluminium coil are an established feature of modern interior architecture for many reasons, e.g. for their representative attractive appearance, thermal and sound insulation, integration into ventilation or lighting systems. Suspended ceilings can be found in offices and salesrooms, administrative buildings and covered walls as well as in exhibition halls, airports, service stations or swimming baths.
IDEABOND pre-painted coils are suitable for manufacturing of e.g. ceiling panels, grid ceilings, long panel cassettes, lamp grid elements, capping (aluminium-covered support rails) and substructure rails or partitions.
Smooth or perforated ceiling elements are mounted on substructure. In general, ceilings are installed in closed rooms. They may also be installed in "wet rooms" such as indoor swimming pools if suitable air conditioning prevents persistent condensation.

Surface
Front side: 2-coat polyester
The polyester lacquer system insists in two coats (primer and top coat) which is stove-enamelled by the coil coating process. Thickness of paint coating: approx. 18/28 µm (depending on colour tone). Metallic colours are coated with a base coat and a transparent layer.
Reverse side:
protective lacquer
The transparent protective lacquer on the reverse side is suitable for adhesive bonding with most available glues and foams. Typical thickness of paint coating: approx. 3-4 µm.

Protective Film
A protective film is available on request with self adhesive protective film which can be removed later. 



4. Roller Shutter

Roller shutter slats and boxes made of IDEABOND pre-painted aluminium coil can be used in many applications such as part of the facade, roof window or garage doors.Thanks for a special two-layer-paint system; roller shutters made of IDEABOND pre-painted aluminium are with the following excellent features:

The reverse side paint coating is suitable for the two-component PUR foaming systems currently popular on the market.
Both sides are coated with a decorative, high gloss surface finishes. IDEABOND pre-painted aluminium is also perfect for exterior blinds and similar sun protection systems.

5. Signs

Signs guide, warn, help, and inform. It is important that the message is put across quickly, day and night, and in all weathers. The sign industry requires material with high color consistency and perfect surfaces. IDEABOND supplies material fulfilling the highest optical requirements for excellent printing and labeling. IDEABOND aluminium is pre-treated and partly already cut to size so that the customer can process is easily and economically.

Traffic signs
IDEABOND pre-painted aluminium coil is the ideal material for the production of traffic and road signs. Due to the high quality of its surface coating, it can be immediately processed without any further pre-treatment. Alloy and coating of the material conform exactly to the special requirements of traffic and road signs.
The clear lacquer on the front side is prepared for application with reflective film. Leading producers of reflective film have tested their products' adhesion to our clear lacquer and confirm excellent adhesion properties. The reverse side of the material is delivered painted according to the specific national specification. A special feature of IDEABOND pre-painted aluminium for traffic and road signs is its enormous versatility. The already painted and pre-treated blanks not only save production time, but also lessen the manufacturing risk!
IDEABOND pre-painted aluminium for traffic and road signs is delivered either as coil, sheet or blank, The blanks are manufactured according to national specification, upon request also with corner radii. Coil-coated aluminium sheet are available in widths up to 2000 mm and in lengths of up to 5000 mm. Blanks and sheet are available in gauges of up to 2 mm.

6. Industry

Often details pose the most problems. Pre-painted aluminium coil offers solutions with its intrinsic properties such as electrical and thermal conductivity, and corrosion resistance. 
IDEABOND is used with decorative or functional coating for many industrial products. For further processing as e.g. bonding or foaming special coatings with optimum adhesion properties are used.
Through development with the customer, the rolling stock is specially adapted for the final products. It just needs putting into the right shape. There is hardly any application that can manage without aluminium.

Applying to refrigeration systems
Aluminium is the ideal material for the construction of refrigeration systems. Thanks to its metallurgical characteristics it transmits the heat rapidly guaranteeing a modern and highly efficient refrigeration system. Aluminium, plain or embossed is used for the internal cells by the most important refrigerator producers in the world.
